The main audience I want to appeal to is pretty much all women of all ages and all fitness levels.

I want to promote the fact that my fitness centre caters for every woman and their needs. It will benefit people wanting to improve their fitness, tone muscles, lose weight, body build, relax and just be apart of a great social network.

‘Tone it up’ would have the following facilities and equipment:
Cardio classes
Kickboxing classes
Pilates classes
Yoga classes
Step classes
Hand Weights
Weight Machines
Rowing machines

I would make these classes available at certain times of the day to suit the certain age group or type of women who would benefit from the classes the most. For example, cardio and yoga classes early in the morning for women who like to exercise before work. A mid morning pilates class for older or pregnant women. And a kickboxing class at night for busy women, (working, mothers, students) who don’t find time to exercise during the day.

Name Decided

August 26, 2009 at 1:53 pm (Development, Inspirations)

Have decided on the name Tone it up. I think it portrays what I would want in a gym, an all women’s gym to ensure comfort and privacy for all types of women.

Have been looking at different women’s gyms and what they have to offer.
*attached some women’s gym logos that I found inspirational.

Contours – I liked the theory of this company, ‘fitness for women on the go’
-not a big fan of the branding, but their campaigns are clever and well produced.

Lady’s Gym – Basic feminine logo. Icon doesn’t really fit the business.

Company Name

August 12, 2009 at 12:00 am (Development)

I think one of the keys to a successful company is that its name is quirky and sticks in peoples minds. Have come up with these three names for my gym by brainstorming with a group of friends. Have to pick which to use by exploring how the gym would be determined by the name.

– Pump It
– Tone it up
– Muscles

Tone it up, i think would go for a women’s gym, suiting people who are looking to tone up rather than bulk up.
Muscles would obviously be a mixed gender gym as having muscles appeals to a wide range of people, male and female, although it would predominately attract men.
Pump it, thought could go either way. The phrase pump it could mean pumping the energy levels focusing on cardio or fitness or it could be like pumping weights, focusing on body building.

Leaning towards Tone it up, as i think a women’s gym would be more the type of company I would like to create.

First Idea’s

August 5, 2009 at 12:00 am (Development)

I wanted to create a corporate identity for something that I was interested in, and tweak it to make it exactly as I would like it to be.

A few idea’s that I’ve thought of are a mowing service, dog walking service, coffee shop and gym.
